How the name generator works
- Type up to two first names, yours and your partner's. Both boxes are optional.
- Tap generate and eight duo names appear.
- Tap again as often as you like for a fresh batch.
- Click any name to copy it to your clipboard.
The generator runs in your browser, costs nothing and doesn't ask you to sign in. It is separate from the paid video studio further down the page, so you can brainstorm for as long as you want before deciding whether to make anything. Mix and match freely: if two names are close, take the first word of one and the last word of the other.
What makes a duo name stick
- Say it out loud. If it trips over itself when a friend shouts it across a room, it won't survive a party.
- Make it work as a hashtag: short, no punctuation, easy to spell from memory.
- Hint at your story: the town you grew up in, the job you share, the way you met, the night shift you both work.
- Use contrast. Two opposite words (tall and short, salt and honey, early and late) are easy to remember and describe a pair instantly.
- Search before you commit. Check that no well-known artist already uses it and that the handles you want are free.
- Think long term. A name tied to one joke can age fast; a name tied to who you are lasts.
Naming patterns to riff on
If none of the generated names is quite right, use them as raw material. Most good duo names follow one of a few patterns, and each one still works when you swap in your own words:
| Pattern | How it works | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Initials | Your initials plus a sound or a texture | J.K. Static |
| Blend | The start of one name fused to the end of the other | Mira and Theo become Mireo |
| Place plus object | Your street, district or hometown plus an everyday thing | Eastside Kettle |
| Opposites | Two contrasting words for two personalities | Early & Late |
| Inside joke | The thing your group chat already calls you | The Wrong Exit |
| Job title | What you actually do all day, made louder | Double Shift |
Debut the name in your first track
A name feels real once you hear it rapped. Put it in the topic of the studio below, something like “Introducing the Wrong Exit, two cousins from Leeds”, add one photo of each of you and pick a stage. The AI writes an English debut verse around your new name, makes the beat and renders both of you performing it with lip-sync, in about two to three minutes.
Try more than one. Rendering the same debut with two different names is a quick way to hear which one sounds like a duo and which one sounds like a typo.
The name generator is free; the video is not. A standard 12-second debut at 720p is 10 credits, a single song is $9.99, and a render that fails is never charged.
